Going on a date

For the first time in six years my husband has decided that we are going to go to his Christmas staff party. So I guess we will be going out on a date! For the past six years we haven’t had a babysitter so we never ended up going. But now that our daughter is old enough and mature enough to watch her brother we have decided to go. I’m quite excited about it actually. It will be the first time in six years that him and I have gone out to eat without taking the children. Going out for supper sure sounds like more fun than staying home and writing articles on rv repairs now doesn’t it?? So…. next weekend we will be out on our date and I can’t wait!

Google page rank update

A friend of mine informed me that as of yesterday Google did a page rank update. So just for kicks I checked out all my blogs to see if I had an Google page rank this time around. Well this site is now unranked. Why you ask? Couldn’t tell you. Oh well, that’s Google for you. A few of my other sites did go up in page rank so that made me very happy. I really don’t pay too much attention to the page rank increases or decreases but it is nice to know that a few of my sites are doing well.

Looking for more employment

My husband has been employed at the same company for over 14 years. Well I think the time has finally come for him to start looking for new employment. He’s extremely good at his job ( he works on skidsteers and other heavy equipment) and enjoys being a mechanic, but he’s really getting tired of the politics in his work place. He has discussed his concerns with his employer but things don’t look like their going to change. So he has had me looking on the Internet for new employment for him. I kind of hope he follows through this time as he really is unhappy with where he’s at right now and really does need to go elsewhere.

More Christmas shopping done

Well we’ve been plugging away at our Christmas shopping. I’m really amazed at how much things cost these days. With three kids to buy for, money sure doesn’t seem to go around as well as it has done in the past. We were able to find the kids some pretty cool t-shirts at a fairly reasonable rate. But the toys that we’ve purchased so far have cost quite a bit. Thank goodness Christmas only comes once a year. I really have to wonder how folks do it if they have a lot of children and not a lot of income. Oh well, we still have a bit of time to scrimp and save and purchase more gifts.

Still plugging away with Neilsen’s

It’s been almost a year since I joined the Neilsen’s scanning program and I’ve got to tell you all that it’s taking me a very long time to earn enough points to get a gift that I would like. For those of you who aren’t aware of this program it’s a program where you do your normal shopping and then when you get home, you scan your items into a symbol barcode scanner and then send off the info to the company. When you get enough points from all your scanning, you can redeem these points for gifts. I have been doing this faithfully for almost a year. It’s taking a while to accumulate points, but since it doesn’t require a lot of time or effort on my part, I’ll still keep plugging away at it.

Beautiful fall weather

Well except for the small storm that we had on Sunday I’ve got to tell you all that we’ve been pretty lucky and have been having a pretty nice fall. It’s been sunny more than rainy and the temps in our area are always above the freezing mark. It does get cold at night but since I don’t have to be out in that, I really don’t care. Man…. I hope this weather continues. I’m loving fall this year!

Weekend plans

So the weekend has finally arrived. Do you have any plans for the weekend? I really don’t have a whole lot planned. I have to work on Sunday so that kind of takes care of most of that day. And tomorrow we have to go out to purchase some Halloween supplies and costumes. I’d like to say that the rest of the time is free so I can do anything that I like, but unfortunately that isn’t the case. I put off doing some articles on alcohol rehab treatment centers and now I have a looming deadline ahead of me. So I guess when I’m not shopping or working at my part time job this weekend I will be tied to my computer trying to get these articles done so I don’t miss my deadline or my pay.

The end to a very long weekend

Yeah, I know this is Monday so technically the weekend is over. But due to teacher’s meetings I have had my kids home from school for four long days and I am so ready to have them go back. They go back to school tomorrow morning and I for one couldn’t be happier. They spent most of the weekend fighting over sport trophies of all things. When these two have two much time on their hands I guess they feel the need to fight to amuse themselves. But that will all be over at 8:00 am tomorrow morning. Come on morning!!

Christmas shopping needs to get started

Well it’s official, there’s only 70 days left until Christmas and I’m no where near ready. Yeah, I have bought a few items and have invested in some camera batteries rechargeable but in all honesty I haven’t haven’t made a dent on the things I need to buy yet. Yes I know I have a little time, but you all know how time flies right. Oh well, I’m sure it will all get done eventually. It always does.
