Now that the kids are getting older, I have been having some serious thoughts about returning back to work. But, I really don’t want to go back into the service industry or the retail field. For about the past month now my husband has not been really happy with his present employment.  He dreads going to work in the mornings and by the time he gets home at night, he is usually a royal bear.  So  a couple of weeks ago he finally told his boss how he feels and indicated that if things didn’t change around the job site, he would be leaving.  They had a nice talk (after a lot of yelling) and seemed to work things out.

Well this morning when he arrived at work his boss called him into the office for his annual review.  Well, I will leave it up to your imagination on how well he figured this was going to go.  Well he was extremely surprised to find out that his boss gave him an awesome review (even after all the yelling), with a bonus and a nice raise in pay.

So I guess the moral of this story is…stand up for yourself, let your feelings known and everything will work out as they should.  So for right now I guess he is going to stay put.  Unless him and his boss decide that they need to get into it again.

Last week my husband and I were discussing our financial situation.  I don’t work outside of the home, so any income I can earn online is the only income that I bring in the house.  He does work full time, so all our bills are getting paid and there is food on the table, but there isn’t a lot left over for the extra stuff that we or the kids would like.

In May I left a job that I had had for almost seven years.  So due to our financial situation right now, I did offer to go back to work.  I really don’t want to and the kids don’t want me to either.  But, if it would help us out I was willing to do it.  Thankfully, after much discussion, we decided that it wouldn’t really pay for me to go back.  If I’m paying out half my paycheck to a babysitter, then really what is the point of working.  So for right now, I’ll stay home and try to earn a little extra online.
