When the kids arrived home from school on Friday it was the start of their March break. Well…. since they spent the first two days of their break fighting, I can only assume that this is what I have to look forward to for the remainder of their time off. These two really do love one another, but for some reason they feel the need to fight over everything. Honestly if this doesn’t let up, I really don’t know what I will end up doing. Oh well, that’s life with two little people I guess. I’ll just have to make sure that I have a whole bottle of Advil on hand for their entire March break.

My daughter’s junior high is having their winter dance this coming Wednesday night. I’ve got to tell you all I was a little surprised with her by her actions over this dance. The last couple that she went to she had a blast, but this one she barely mentioned. She did mention it to her father yesterday but didn’t ask for any money for a ticket. Now… that’s not her. This morning her father did give her the money for a ticket, but he had to ask her if she wanted to go, she wasn’t begging him to go. Maybe the dances aren’t as fun for her as she thought they would be? Oh well, who knows with little kids right?

Many of you may not be aware of this, but lately I have been trying my hand at general transcription. Although I do find this work quite tedious, I do enjoy doing it so I think I will continue on with this type of work for a little while. But I have also been thinking about doing some medical billing and coding as well. But to do this I would have to take medical coding training courses to get into this field. I don’t know if I’m prepared to pay money for courses just yet. So I think I will just continue on with what I’m doing and possibly down the road check out this other profession a little more closely.

Only nine more days!! That’s right folks. Only nine more days and the children are back in school. And if you think that I’m excited about this, you couldn’t be more right! This has probably been the longest summer of my life!!! The weather has been so miserable that the kids haven’t been able to spend a lot of time outside. This means they have been stuck in the house and I got to hear all their fighting during the entire summer. We really only had one week of good weather and the rest of the time has been pretty much a crap shoot. This is why I am so happy that there is only NINE more days left until they both head onto that little yellow school bus.

Well yesterday we got a jump on the school shopping that we need to have done. With only three weeks left before the kids are back in school we really needed to get started on this. So over the next three weeks we will slowly start purchasing all the things the kids are going to need to get back into the school season. It’s going to cost quite a bit to get two kids ready for school, but if we make these purchases over the next three weeks it won’t hurt us quite as bad as purchasing it all at once.

Tomorrow is the children’s final day of school. I have known for a couple of weeks now that both kids have passed the year. We were going to just go out and buy them their grading presents ourselves, but have now decided to let them pick out their own presents. So tomorrow when my husband gets home from work we will take the kids to the store and let them pick out their own presents. Then after we have done this, we are going to surprise them and take them out to supper. They both had a wonderful year, so they really do deserve this special little bit of treatment.

The school year is almost at an end. The kids only have this week and they will be finished the school year for the summer. Next year my daughter will be going into grade 6 and my little boy will be headed into grade 4. Because they did so well this year I have been trying to come up with some pretty great grading presents. Well I think I have an idea for my son. I plan on purchasing him an air soft rifle.

I have found a site on the Internet that sells airsoft rifles. They have the biggest collection of Rifles Airsoft available on the market. Their prices are extremely reasonable and it is definitely a gift that any boy would be happy with. So, I’m off to purchase an airsoft rifle which will please my youngest son to no end. Now all I’ll have to do is find my daughter a perfect gift for her, and then we will be all set.

Man the days are really flying by lately. I honestly can’t believe that it’s almost the end of April already. Just a couple of months and the kids are going to be out of school for the school summer holiday season. Then in September my daughter will be headed off to middle school. Yikes! Where does the time go?? It seems like it was only yesterday that her father was walking her into the elementary school for her first day. Although my youngest son will still be in elementary school next year, it won’t be too much longer before this kid is headed off to middle school himself.

As I said, where does the time go??

Today is day number five for the kids being home from school and I can’t wait until tomorrow hits. When they are home all day, I don’t seem to be able to get anything done. Then to top it all off, my husband was home for the past three days as well. So yeah, nothing done on those days at all. Today he went back to work, but the kids are still home so I won’t be doing too much today. But tomorrow I have lots to do. But, I don’t mind because I will have the house to myself for the day so that means I’ll be able to get a lot accomplished. I know the kids need a break from school every once in a while, but it sure is nice when they go back.

Well I am happy to report that the fiddle-a-thon was a huge success. After four hours of playing, my daughter was very tired, but extremely happy that she once again made it through this particular commitment. Now I did spend the entire four hours at the school listening to them, but I really don’t think that is going to happen again. Next year she goes up to middle school and if she continues to play, then I will drop her off and then go back to hear the tail end of the fiddle-a-thon. The kids did a great job and a lot of money was raised for their string program. So, all in all it was a very good day.
