Surprisingly Insightful

Honestly guys if my two younger kids don’t stop all their fighting I’m going to blow a gasket! I always thought that the older the children get, the more behaved they would become. But this definitely is not the case in my house. I have spent the entire summer listening to these kids fight. They will fight over anything and no amount of punishing or grounding will make them stop. Thank heavens they are both headed back to school in less than two weeks. I honestly don’t think I can take much more of this.

Only two weeks left before the kids head back to school. Yay! Can’t you tell that I’m excited?? The kids are too so I don’t feel real bad about all my excitement. It’s been quite a long summer with the kids home and I will be quite happy when they go back to a normal routine. My two kids are the kind of kids that NEED to be in school. They need the routine and the structure that they receive from going to school. They are now starting to get bored so they are now fighting a lot. But, there is only two more weeks to go so I think I can survive. If you see me posting here after September 2, then you know that I did in fact make it. lol

This morning my daughter and my son were searching through the sears catalogue. This catalogue is the Christmas edition. So it’s chalked full of toys. First they began to circle everything that they would like to have. Well this went on for a little while until my daughter decided to write out all her requests. Three pages later she handed me her Christmas list. If I were to get everything on this list, I would definitely have to start shopping now! My son’s list wasn’t quite so big so I think we may be able to hook him up with some of his items. Kara on the other hand really needs to revise her list. Then we will see.

My daughter is only 10, but I swear she’s going on 20. She is such a drama queen! Most of the time when “her world is falling apart” I just have to laugh. Like today. She was getting ready to go on an outing with her uncle, cousin and brother. When she looked in the mirror after washing her face, she seen a pimple. Oh my, the way she reacted you would have thought the sky was falling. She came running out of the bathroom claiming she is getting the world’s worst case of acne. Since she’s only 10 I really don’t see that happening yet. So we put a little cream on her pimple and she went on her merry way. Honestly I can’t wait to see how she acts when she really does get acne.

Today turned out to be a very expensive day for my husband and myself.  Tomorrow is my daughter’s 10th birthday and Monday is my son’s 8th so we ended up spending quite a bit of money.  We had to purchase two presents, one cake and some groceries for the birthday party that the entire family is attending.  It’s a real good thing that birthdays only come once a year or we would definitely be in the poor house.  But I think it’s going to be worth it when both kids see their present, cake and their surprise party.

I am so thankful that this week is almost behind me. It was such a long week with the kids. Although they were in art camp for the week in the afternoons, the amount of time that they spent home and with each other was sever torcher on me. They spent the entire week fighting and not listening to a word I said. And today hasn’t been any better. If they keep this up, I am really thinking about booking a vacation just for me! I know they would love to experience any of Orlando vacations, but they way they have been acting, they are going to be lucky if they get to experience going outside our doorway for the next week. Do you ever get fed up with your kids?? Have you threatened to run away all by yourself??

After a two week break from art day camp the kids are going back today.  They will be going everyday for the next three weeks.  They are pretty excited about going back and have had all their supplies packed for days.  I’m quite happy that their going back as well.  Now I don’t need to entertain them everyday all day and I could possibly get some much needed work done.  I can’t believe how fast this summer is flying by.  But the kids are having a blast and that’s what summer vacation is all about now isn’t it?!

I am always amazed when I walk into a mall and see a lot of people wearing pretty much the same thing. That is how I know when different apparel is in fashion. That, and if my kids tell me. The latest fashion that my kids seem to be into is the tactical look. They both love the tactical pant and tactical shirts that are available for kids on the market these days. They have both indicated that they would like to have a couple of these outfits for going back to school. It seems like all I do is post about the weather. Now normally my posts are quite negative. They usually entail me moaning and complaining about the rain that ruins our camping trips. Well today I am here to boast about the great weather that we have been experiencing for the kids first week of art camp. Summer is a great season to participate in a lot of outdoor sports if the weather co-operates and this week the kids are spending all their time outdoors at their camp. So it’s a good thing that the weather decided to co-operate with us. I think it knew better as it would have had a couple of angry kids to deal with. lol
