When the kids arrived home from school on Friday it was the start of their March break. Well…. since they spent the first two days of their break fighting, I can only assume that this is what I have to look forward to for the remainder of their time off. These two really do love one another, but for some reason they feel the need to fight over everything. Honestly if this doesn’t let up, I really don’t know what I will end up doing. Oh well, that’s life with two little people I guess. I’ll just have to make sure that I have a whole bottle of Advil on hand for their entire March break.

My daughter’s junior high is having their winter dance this coming Wednesday night. I’ve got to tell you all I was a little surprised with her by her actions over this dance. The last couple that she went to she had a blast, but this one she barely mentioned. She did mention it to her father yesterday but didn’t ask for any money for a ticket. Now… that’s not her. This morning her father did give her the money for a ticket, but he had to ask her if she wanted to go, she wasn’t begging him to go. Maybe the dances aren’t as fun for her as she thought they would be? Oh well, who knows with little kids right?

Yesterday was the first day in over a week that I actually had the day to myself. For the past week I’ve had a least one kid home from school either due to sickness or school storm days. Well yesterday I thought we had finally got back on track. Both kids went back to school and I was able to have a me day. I got lots of work done and was looking forward to finishing up things today. Well… that isn’t going to happen. Today I have my son home from school sick so there won’t be much getting done today. Oh well, at least I had one day to myself.

I’m having a seriously difficult time finding Christmas gifts for my daughter. My youngest son (who is 9) is super easy to buy for, but my 11 year old daughter is definitely another story. I was thinking about purchasing her some stainless steel drums but just found out that she quit the percussion club at school, so I don’t think that would make a very good gift now. She is heavily into animals, but there is only so many animals that a person can buy her as well. Hopefully I’ll come up with a bright idea soon. After all, Christmas is only 15 days away.

Well the kids have only been in school for a week and my youngest son is sick once again. I don’t know if this happens to him all the time because he is around kids at school that are sick or if it’s because he has to go out in the early mornings to catch the bus and it’s quite cold here in the mornings. Whatever the reason is, he is always sick the first week of school. So later today I have to head out to the drug store to purchase all kinds of cold and flue products. This trip I won’t be searching for the best diet pills or anything like that. But I know it’s going to be an expensive trip. Oh well, school is once again in session and that means my youngest (especially him) will need all this medicine sooner rather than later.

No, I’m not living in my car but I am seriously considering it. I think this will be the only way that I can get away from all the kid’s fighting. The last few days have been brutal and I’m pretty much at my ropes end with them. I really do think they enjoy fighting and I’m starting to wonder if they really like to hear me yap at them constantly?! But with only SIX, that’s right SIX days to go until they are back in school, I just may make it yet. But the car is out in the driveway as an option.

Only nine more days!! That’s right folks. Only nine more days and the children are back in school. And if you think that I’m excited about this, you couldn’t be more right! This has probably been the longest summer of my life!!! The weather has been so miserable that the kids haven’t been able to spend a lot of time outside. This means they have been stuck in the house and I got to hear all their fighting during the entire summer. We really only had one week of good weather and the rest of the time has been pretty much a crap shoot. This is why I am so happy that there is only NINE more days left until they both head onto that little yellow school bus.

Well yesterday we got a jump on the school shopping that we need to have done. With only three weeks left before the kids are back in school we really needed to get started on this. So over the next three weeks we will slowly start purchasing all the things the kids are going to need to get back into the school season. It’s going to cost quite a bit to get two kids ready for school, but if we make these purchases over the next three weeks it won’t hurt us quite as bad as purchasing it all at once.

Yesterday was my daughter’s 11th birthday and today is my son’s 9th birthday. So I would like to dedicate this post to both of them. I really hope their days are filled with lots of fun. And just want them both to know that I love them very much.

Have a great birthday kids!

My youngest son is so funny. He is constantly cracking me up. He is only eight, but he sure can keep us all in stitches. Last night his father and him were playing around and his father informed him that he’s not his real father (joking of course). Well that didn’t phase my son. He just looked him square in the face and told him to have some DNA testing done. When his father asked him what he meant, he simply stated “Get a blood test”. See he knew what he was talking about. And if his father ever did, then my son would simply look at him and say “I told you so DAD”.
