Last night after work I decided to check out some sites on gifts for her so I would have something to tell my husband when he asked me what I wanted for valentines day. Well, nothing really jumped out at me that I needed or wanted, so I think I’ll tell him I just want to go out to supper. Sometimes just not having to cook supper is a great gift in itself. So that’s what I’ve decided I want for Valentine’s day.

I’m having a seriously difficult time finding Christmas gifts for my daughter. My youngest son (who is 9) is super easy to buy for, but my 11 year old daughter is definitely another story. I was thinking about purchasing her some stainless steel drums but just found out that she quit the percussion club at school, so I don’t think that would make a very good gift now. She is heavily into animals, but there is only so many animals that a person can buy her as well. Hopefully I’ll come up with a bright idea soon. After all, Christmas is only 15 days away.

Every year I hand my husband a list of all the things that I would like for Christmas. Of course, I realize that I probably won’t get everything on the list, but at least by giving him the list, he has some idea of what I would like. This year on my list is modern furniture classics, a DS video game, clothes, a dishwasher, and a hair straightener. So as you can see by this list, I probably won’t get everything on it, but if gives me a couple of the items then the list making was well worth it.

I am such a smarty pants!! Every year I am mailing out the Christmas cards a little late. Most of my family and friends don’t get these cards till after Christmas. But this year things will be different. I bought the cards today and will spend the afternoon making them out. My husband is going to buy some stamps today and I’ll get them in the mail tomorrow. Hey, maybe my family and friends will actually get these cards before the big day!! I’m so proud of myself!

I have found that over the years Christmas around our house is starting to get expensive. With three kids to buy for and one husband, it just seems like I spend more and more money each year. This year we have been looking at different digital cameras for our daughter and let me tell you all, they aren’t cheap. For our youngest son we have been checking out all the NASCAR gear and that isn’t cheap either. Oh well, the kids will get what we can afford and I’m pretty sure they will be content with that. I just wish this Christmas gift giving season just wasn’t so darn expensive.
