My husband has been employed at the same company for over 14 years. Well I think the time has finally come for him to start looking for new employment. He’s extremely good at his job ( he works on skidsteers and other heavy equipment) and enjoys being a mechanic, but he’s really getting tired of the politics in his work place. He has discussed his concerns with his employer but things don’t look like their going to change. So he has had me looking on the Internet for new employment for him. I kind of hope he follows through this time as he really is unhappy with where he’s at right now and really does need to go elsewhere.

Well let me tell you all about my weekend. First of all Sunday was Mother’s day so my husband and the kids took me out for supper. Then yesterday was my birthday and once again lot of spoiling went on. Last night my husband brought home supper so I wouldn’t have to cook and brought me home a birthday “pie”. Yes, I said pie. I’m not a huge fan of cake so I got a pie. He did bring home a small cake for the kids to share in honor of my big day. But my absolute favorite gift was my new laptop. About a month ago we were looking at acer aspire laptops and I pointed out one I would like to have. Well my husband was paying attention and brought me home one. So I’ve had a pretty great couple of days!

Unless you live under a rock, I’m sure you are all aware that this coming weekend is Easter. What that means at my house is that I have the family home for the next four days. So today is my last day of peace and quiet for a little while. So… what that means for me is that I have a pile of work that I need to get done before I have the family home for a few days.

I need to finish up the housework I started and I have a pretty big article writing job that needs to be complete as well. Since the subject matter of these articles in on teflon hose and I’m not really knowledgeable on this subject I need peace and quiet to do a lot of research. But I think I can get this all done today and then be able to enjoy the long weekend with my family.

I am so jealous of my brother and his wife. Last week they headed to the Dominican for a much needed and wanted winter vacation. I have been talking to him over the past few days and it seems like they really are having a blast. He even mentioned that he was really glad that his wife and him tried some Diet pills that work fast before they headed out for their vacation. Although I would really love to be with him, I don’t fly so I don’t think a vacation like this is ever going to be in the cards for me. But he’s having a great time so I guess that’s the main thing.

My husband’s 44th birthday will be here soon. And I want to find him something special this year. He hasn’t really been feeling very good these past couple of months and I think I super nice present might just pick up his spirits. I don’t think I should find any 60th birthday gifts for him as he wouldn’t find that very amusing. But I’m sure within the next couple of weeks I will be able to find something suitable. His birthday is actually on Valentine’s day so it’s a doubly special day. I just hope I can find that perfect gift to celebrate both occasions.

In the sixteen years that my husband and I have been together we have never had a family photo taken. Well, I have finally talked him into getting one done for Christmas. Although this family photo will only have the four of us in it (my oldest son is still away), I still want one as we’ve never had one taken before. We have an appointment in a few days to get this done and I’m just praying that my acne treatments are working by then. It would be an awful shame if our first family photo was ruined by the mess on my face. I can’t wait!

For the past couple of months my husband has been not feeling very well. But he refuses to go to the doctor. I have been at him about this on a daily basis, but nothing seems to get him going. He could need something simple such as colon cleansers or it could be a little more serious. But if he won’t got to the doctor, then we might not know. Hopefully I can talk him into going soon and soon he will be feeling well again.

Well you know that Christmas is right around the corner when they start to advertise the upcoming Santa Clause parades. Our first on in our area is this upcoming Saturday. We have two more in our area as well. The one in our town is next Saturday and the following Saturday is the one in another near by town. So I guess Christmas is coming whether I want it to or not. We are not taking the kids to the one this weekend, but we will definitely be attending the one next weekend.

I just got a phone call that my niece is getting married. And once again, this is one wedding that I will not be able to go to. My niece lives over 1000 miles away so attending this wedding is out of the question. She is going to e-mail pictures of some of the bridal gowns that she’s looking at so I’ll at least get to see what she might look like on her big day. And of course my brother will e-mail me pictures of her on her big day. I just wish they didn’t live so far away. Maybe then I wouldn’t miss so much that is going on with my family.

On Tuesday my children came home from being out with their father to find their pet hamster dead. They were very, very sad. They both indicated that they wanted another hamster but they didn’t want one that looked like their old one. So my daughter went online to check out different types of hamsters to see which kind they would like to have next. She certainly clicked on a lot of learn more links on the websites. They found the type they wanted and last night my husband came home with a new hamster. They are both now extremely happy!
