Last night my husband and I were watching a program on European cruises. Going on a cruise is one of my dreams in life and when I retire I plan on going on at least one. I would love to take a cruise to Nashville and see all my country stars, but if I were offered a European cruise, I certainly wouldn’t turn it down. My husband and I have many years before we retire and many years before the two younger kids are out of the home so I have plenty of time to save my pennies for any type of cruise. Then when the time comes, I will be all set for an adventure of a life time.

Although my husband and I haven’t taken many vacations together, there is one that we took years ago when really stands out in my mind. The main reason why this particular vacation stands out so vividly is because it was the funnest and the funniest one we ever took. Now that we are older, I really don’t think we will ever have this type of experience ever again so I thought I would share with you all the details about this particular vacation.
When my husband and I first decided to go on our wild vacation to the Cypress Gardens Florida we did not have access to any online travel guides so we had to plan our trip by ourselves and that was our first mistake. We had decided to travel in the middle of the summer which is one of the busiest times for tourists. We neglected to book our plane tickets in advance so we ended up being placed on standby. Six hours later in the airport we finally got a flight. Then when we arrived at our destination we discovered that we had left our travellers checks home on the table. So…we needed to get that straightened out. When this was straightened out, we decided to head out to dinner, but with no reservations, we ended up at a cafe for our “romantic dinner”. Now I know this doesn’t sound like a great big laugh to you all, but NOW I can look back on this experience, or my lack of experience, and giggle.
If I were to plan of vacation of this sort ever again, the first thing I would do is look up a site on the Internet called Trusted Tours & Attractions and have them help me plan my vacation every step of the way. Then I can be assured that if I wanted to take any type of vacation such as
Las Vegas tours I would have everything in place that needs to be.
So if your planning on a vacation of any sort in the near future and would like to make sure that you don’t encounter any of the problems that my husband and I did on our first one then why not check out trustedtours.com and grab yourself one of those online travel guides to help you on you way. Also, if you sign up for their newsletter by August 31, 2008 you will also have a chance to win a $150 Magellan’s Gift Certificate. How cool is that??

This weekend was the annual giant flea market and car show for the town that we usually go camping in. For the first time in years my husband and I took the kids and headed down to it. This flea market is so big that it took us well over two hours to walk the entire way through it and I’m pretty sure that we missed a few tables on our journey. At this type of flea market, you can purchase anything from HDMI cable, to cars, to food. The sky is the limit there. I have to say that we did really good and didn’t spend too much money. I bought six books which only cost me $3.25 and my husband bought my daughter a music stand for $12.00. And that was it. There were lots of things we would have liked to buy, but we are trying to save money so we just passed these tables by. But it was fun and I’m sure we will go back again next year.

We were able to get away one night this past weekend to go camping. Although my husband was home from work last week on holidays the weather didn’t cooperate with us at all to be able to go camping. But Sunday it started to get a bit sunny so we took a chance and went to the campsite. When we first got there it was sunny and nice out, but it didn’t take long for the dark clouds and rain to appear. We were outside playing badminton with the kids when it started to rain. It started sprinkling at first so we continued to play. Then it down poured. So we had to quit the game. But the kids had fun while we were playing and they didn’t mind at all that they got rained on. So on our next trip you can bet that they badminton rackets and birdies will be one of the first things packed.

Today turned out to be a very expensive day for my husband and myself. Tomorrow is my daughter’s 10th birthday and Monday is my son’s 8th so we ended up spending quite a bit of money. We had to purchase two presents, one cake and some groceries for the birthday party that the entire family is attending. It’s a real good thing that birthdays only come once a year or we would definitely be in the poor house. But I think it’s going to be worth it when both kids see their present, cake and their surprise party.

After a two week break from art day camp the kids are going back today. They will be going everyday for the next three weeks. They are pretty excited about going back and have had all their supplies packed for days. I’m quite happy that their going back as well. Now I don’t need to entertain them everyday all day and I could possibly get some much needed work done. I can’t believe how fast this summer is flying by. But the kids are having a blast and that’s what summer vacation is all about now isn’t it?!

Within the next month my husband will be taking another week’s vacation. We are planning on going camping for the entire week. We normally go to one specific campsite when we go camping, but that is only because it is close to home and usually my husband is on call for work so it makes sense to stay close to home. But when he’s on vacation, he won’t be on call so we are planning on going to a few different campsites. Although I won’t get very much work done on the computer while we are away, I do plan on taking my laptop with us just in case we are at a site that offers free wireless. I’ve never gone camping with my laptop before so this will definitely be a new experience for me.

In about three weeks time my husband will have another weeks vacation. And with a brand new trailer, you can just bet where we will be headed. Yup to the campsite for the entire week. Having a camper trailer will save us a lot of money in Hilton Head rentals or any other type of rentals for lodgings. Having all ready spent one weekend in the new trailer, we already have experienced how much fun it is for the entire family. So in three weeks time we will be headed away for an entire week. I can’t wait!

One of my husband’s dreams in life is to take a romantic trip to Mexico for just the two of us. Although we don’t have that kind of money right now to go on a trip like this, it is definitely on our list of things to do. So, just for fun the other day I was browsing the Internet and thought I would check to see how much a trip like this would cost us. I was actually quite surprised at how affordable this trip really could be.
I came across a site over at Sea Side Reservations which specializes in giving you information regarding this type of trip. They will direct you to the best prices on Rocky Point hotels, tell you all about the activities that are available in the and help you plan that dream vacation. With their helpful and knowledgeable staff directing you, it won’t be very long at all before your dream becomes a reality. So when my husband and I are all set to take our dream of a lifetime, you can bet that I’ll be back to visit this site.

It seems like all I do is post about the weather. Now normally my posts are quite negative. They usually entail me moaning and complaining about the rain that ruins our camping trips. Well today I am here to boast about the great weather that we have been experiencing for the kids first week of art camp. Summer is a great season to participate in a lot of outdoor sports if the weather co-operates and this week the kids are spending all their time outdoors at their camp. So it’s a good thing that the weather decided to co-operate with us. I think it knew better as it would have had a couple of angry kids to deal with. lol
