So how was every one’s Christmas?? Mine was amazing! My husband and I both had a few days off so it was pretty great to finally be able to spend some quality time together and with the kids. That hasn’t happened in a very long time. I pretty much got everything I asked for and then some. I would have loved to have gotten a reclining loveseat but… maybe next year. And now with New Year’s Eve just around the corner I can see that we are going to have even more fun. So, so far so good. The holidays have been great!
Last week was a pretty rough week here at my house for people being sick. My youngest son was home sick from school for most of the week and my daughter was home for a couple of days as well. But they both seem to be a lot better and both are back in school. I’m really hoping this is the end of the sickness for both of them for awhile. It’s nice to get it over with before the Christmas season.
Last night after the family were all sleeping for the night I got a little bored so I decided to go on the Internet to see what I could find. I found a site that was offering a free trial on wrinkle creams and thought this was a pretty cool idea for me to try out new and different creams. I’m only 42 but lately have been looking at least 52 so I thought maybe some of these products might just help me out. So I guess I’ll see in six to eight weeks if these products really do work. And this won’t even cost me a cent.
With Christmas Eve only a week away I am feeling quite pleased with myself. I have all my Christmas shopping done, all the baking done (um, bought) and most of the cleaning done. I have never been this far ahead of the game before so that’s why I am quite pleased. The tree is going up tonight and the Christmas cards will be mailed out today. Then next week I need to buy a pile of groceries and then I’m done! How close are you all to being finished with all your Christmas preparations?
Yesterday was not a fun day at my house at all. We lost our hydro for over 13 hours. So since I had no power, I had no heat. I also had no phone service as I have a cordless phone. Thankfully I do have a cell phone and a cell booster so I wasn’t completely in the dark. And the worst part?? No power for coffee! Even freezing and having no house phone service wasn’t as bad as no coffee. Luckily it came back on and this morning I was able to enjoy my morning coffee once again.
Man did my credit card ever take a hit yesterday. I went out yesterday to finish up my Christmas shopping and I ended up making a couple of purchases on my credit card. Thankfully I won’t have to face the bill until January. But it does have to be paid off. Thank goodness Christmas only comes once a year otherwise I think I would have to retire my credit card. Oh well, tis the season.
This coming weekend I will be attending my final craft fair before Christmas. I have a lot of fashion jewelry to sell and am going to try to sell most of it this weekend. After this craft fair I’m going to stop going to anymore until after the new year. Then in the new year I’ll figure out what I’ve sold and what supplies I need to restock. Hopefully I have a profitable weekend. After all, what woman wouldn’t want to receive handcrafted jewelry for Christmas.
After two days of straight snowing it’s once again time to dig ourselves out. Have I mentioned lately that I absolutely hate winter! And… it’s technically not even winter yet. Thankfully we do have a snow blower so shoveling really isn’t a problem. But I do hate driving in it and I absolutely detest the cold. Oh where or where are you summer??? Are you ever coming back???
It’s actually quite amusing. Right now it’s raining outside and it’s extremely mild. But by tonight the temps are supposed to drop and we are supposed to be getting a major snowstorm. I wish the weather would make up it’s mind. It’s unpredictable weather like this that makes me have to go out and buy tons of acne solutions because of the drastic change in temps. I really hope we don’t get slammed with this storm like we’re supposed to. That would mean the kids would be home for a few days and I don’t think I’d like that.
