At 4:00 am yesterday morning our household was awaken with our youngest son screaming out in terror. Our power went out and he is seriously afraid of the dark. My husband found him and calmed him down, but this meant that we were all up since 4:00 am. We figured that the power would only be out for a little while but it actually ended up being out for a little over eight hours. So with having no power and two kids who were extremely bored yesterday turned out to be a very long day. I couldn’t even go on the computer and look up orlando vacations to dream about getting away. But our power finally came on around noon and we had a happy household once again. Thankfully this type of thing doesn’t happen very often or I would go crazy mad in life.

I have been sitting at this computer all morning and not getting much done. It is running so slow that it is taking me twice as long to get anything accomplished. I’m almost to the point that I’m going to shut the stupid thing down for the day and go sit outside on my patio cushions for the entire afternoon. Now most days this doesn’t aggravate me quite so much, but today I have a lot of work to do and I don’t think I’m going to get it all done. I really do hope that Santa is reading this post, takes pity on me and sends me a brand new laptop this Christmas.

I have found that over the years Christmas around our house is starting to get expensive. With three kids to buy for and one husband, it just seems like I spend more and more money each year. This year we have been looking at different digital cameras for our daughter and let me tell you all, they aren’t cheap. For our youngest son we have been checking out all the NASCAR gear and that isn’t cheap either. Oh well, the kids will get what we can afford and I’m pretty sure they will be content with that. I just wish this Christmas gift giving season just wasn’t so darn expensive.

For the past three days I have been seriously suffering with a major headache. I know what the problem is, and it’s not going to be a cheap fix. I need to get my eyes tested and am pretty sure that I’m going to have to purchase new glasses. But with just buying a new car and having to have money for Christmas, I just can’t afford to do that right now. So for the next little while I’m just going to have to sit back and suffer. But, in the new year I am going to get my eyes tested and hopefully stop having these brutal headaches EVERY DAY.

So it’s once again Monday. The kiddies are back to school and my husband is back to work. How was your weekend? Mine was great! I bought a new car on Friday and have been having a serious blast driving it. I didn’t even mind having to put gas in the thing. lol Saturday and Sunday were pretty nice as well. We weren’t really busy as work so I wasn’t exhausted when I got home. So I was able to do some computer work and even had the time to look up information on outer banks vacation rentals in anticipation of an upcoming vacation. So, all in all the weekend was really good.

About a month ago I went to the doctor and he was not very impressed with the amount of weight I lost. So he threatened me. He told me that if I didn’t start gaining he was going to admit me to hospital to build me back up. Well you can bet that I didn’t want that to happen so I’ve started to eat more. I am happy to report that I have gained 2 of those pounds back again. I do plan on gaining a lot more than that, but for now 2 lbs is good. I have been looking up recipes on the Internet (no I don’t have to pay attention to any diet pill reviews) and have found several recipes that I would like to try out. So hopefully soon (fingers crossed) I will be able to report that I’ve gained many, many more pounds.

I swore this year would be different! Every year I put off my shopping to the last minute and then I’m rushing to make things right just at the last minute. And…. every year I swear this is the last year that I’m going to do this. Well, once again I’ve barely started and it’s almost the middle of November! I have been doing some online looking for unique gifts for her (my daughter), but really haven’t found anything that tickled my fancy. My son is a lot easier to buy for, but I still haven’t picked up much for him either. Oh well, just like every other year, it will get done. But probably at the last minute once again.

I had never heard the term Black Friday up until about three years ago. That’s when I realized that in the US you all have this special day. We don’t have anything like this in Canada and I think that’s an awful shame. If we had Black Friday here in Canada I know I would be one of the shoppers that would take full advantage of this. Even though you have to get up early and fight the crowds, I still think it would be totally worth it to be able to take advantage of all those great deals. Man…. why can’t we have Black Friday here in Canada??
