Only nine more days!! That’s right folks. Only nine more days and the children are back in school. And if you think that I’m excited about this, you couldn’t be more right! This has probably been the longest summer of my life!!! The weather has been so miserable that the kids haven’t been able to spend a lot of time outside. This means they have been stuck in the house and I got to hear all their fighting during the entire summer. We really only had one week of good weather and the rest of the time has been pretty much a crap shoot. This is why I am so happy that there is only NINE more days left until they both head onto that little yellow school bus.
I can’t believe the camping season is shortly coming to an end. We didn’t get to get out as much as I would have liked this year due to illnesses, work and the weather. I really hope that next camping season turns out a lot better than this one did. Next year we are thinking about trading in our pop up for a motor home. A vehicle of this nature would be much more convenient than our pop up and maybe we would use it a little bit more than we used our camper this year. We would have to get some motorhome insurance but I can’t see that being much more expensive than what we pay for trailer insurance right now. I guess we will have to wait and see what takes place next camping season.
My niece is turning 21 today. So at this time I would like to wish her a very happy birthday. I hope your day is everything that you hope for and so much more!!!
Love ya Cheryl.
Finally we were able to go on a camping trip. Yesterday we packed up our camper and headed out for the night. We were only able to go for the one night because I have to go to work later today, but still it was nice to get away for one night. We went to the campground that we always go to and were quite amazed at all the changes they made during the last year. They put in a new pool, different equipment in the playground and even set up a cardboard display to list all the upcoming activities that they will be having in the park. This has always been our favorite place to camp and now with all these changes they have made it even better. We are hoping to go back out again later in the week and you can just bet that we will be headed back to our favorite camping site.
Well yesterday we got a jump on the school shopping that we need to have done. With only three weeks left before the kids are back in school we really needed to get started on this. So over the next three weeks we will slowly start purchasing all the things the kids are going to need to get back into the school season. It’s going to cost quite a bit to get two kids ready for school, but if we make these purchases over the next three weeks it won’t hurt us quite as bad as purchasing it all at once.
It is so hot here in our home, that it’s sticky. As I sit here trying to type this post my fingers are actually sticking to the keys. This is not fun. I really think we are going to need to invest in some air filters to clear the air in this sticky muggy house. I don’t remember a summer that was hot and humid as this one. But, only a couple of weeks of this weather and we will be into September weather. So I guess I can hold on until then.
A couple of months ago our neighbor gave my husband a police scanner. So for the past couple of months we have been constantly listening to the goings on around our area. You would be quite surprised about the amount of wireless alarms that go off in a run of a day. Last weekend we kept up with a car jacking and we also heard about all the drunk drivers that got caught in our area. For a small town, our police force is kept pretty busy. I’m expecting that one of these days we may hear some one’s name on this scanner that we know and won’t that be exciting.
With the wedding season in full swing, my husband and son need to rent a couple of tuxedos. My husband’s cousin is getting married around the first of September and has asked both my husband and my son to be part of the wedding party. Thankfully the tuxedo rentals will be paid for by the groom, or this may not have been possible. I have never seen my son or my husband in a tuxedo so I really can’t wait to see them in their tuxedos. I plan on taking lots and lots of pictures and will be sure to pop back in here with some photos of my two handsome men.
Yesterday was my daughter’s 11th birthday and today is my son’s 9th birthday. So I would like to dedicate this post to both of them. I really hope their days are filled with lots of fun. And just want them both to know that I love them very much.
Have a great birthday kids!
