Keep your finger’s crossed for us guys! This might be the weekend we get to go camping. This upcoming weekend is the first weekend this summer that they are calling for sunshine all weekend. This upcoming weekend is going to be kind of special for several reasons.
First of all it’s a long weekend here in Canada so that gives us an extra day to go camping. Second, my oldest son will be home from quite far away. This will be his first visit in two years. And lastly, Monday is my daughter’s birthday and Tuesday’s is my son. So because this is a very special weekend I’m going to make sure that we have out digital camcorders all ready to go to get a permanent memory of the weekend. Hopefully everything works out as planned and we enjoy one weekend this summer as a family.
Yesterday we were invited to my husband’s father’s for a family barbecue. And although we are not really fond of his wife, the kids really wanted to go so we did end up going. And actually it wasn’t as bad as we thought. His wife did go on and on about the best weight loss pill that she has found, but other than that she wasn’t quite as annoying as in previous visits. It really is a shame that the kids don’t see their grandfather all that often, but having to put up with his wife and all her strange behavior just kind of ruins all the visits. Hopefully the visits in the future will go like yesterday did and then maybe we wouldn’t mind being around her quite so much.
My youngest son is so funny. He is constantly cracking me up. He is only eight, but he sure can keep us all in stitches. Last night his father and him were playing around and his father informed him that he’s not his real father (joking of course). Well that didn’t phase my son. He just looked him square in the face and told him to have some DNA testing done. When his father asked him what he meant, he simply stated “Get a blood test”. See he knew what he was talking about. And if his father ever did, then my son would simply look at him and say “I told you so DAD”.
On August 3rd my daughter will be turning 11 and on August 4th my son will be turning 9. Both of the kids are pretty excited about their upcoming birthdays. Most years they are excited but this year is going to be extra special. Their brother is coming home for their birthdays. They have not seen him in over two years so this is why they are so excited. Matter of fact my youngest son told me I didn’t have to purchase him a gift this year as he is getting the very best gift possible. A visit from his brother.
Earlier this spring I had started doing some spring cleaning. But like everything else in my life, I kind of put off doing the rest of it. Well I decided that it’s time to get back it. Yesterday I went through my medicine cabinet and threw out all my husband’s old diet pills. Yeah, I realize that he is probably just going to come home with new diet pills to replace the ones I threw out, but I really needed to get them out of the house. My husband is the worst pack rat I know. He still has receipts from 1998 in one of our drawers. So guess where I’m headed next?? To the drawers to throw out a bunch of old receipts. Don’t ya just love spring cleaning during the summer??
Online shopping makes me nervous. It always has. I am always wondering just how safe a site really is. Yesterday I was looking at different sites online which offered the consumer an annuity. But I was really hesitant to take it any further because of course I was a little nervous about how safe these sites are. Most of my friends do a lot of online shopping and have never experienced any sorts of problems. But me being the nervous nelly that I am, I can see that I’m probably never going to do a major amount of online shopping in my life time.
So far this summer has been pretty crappy as far as the weather goes. We haven’t had one nice weekend yet where we could take the kids camping. Some days it feels like we wasted our money purchasing a pop up camping trailer. Maybe we should have just made a Westgate reservation and took the kids on a trip that way. But since it’s still only the first of July, hopefully we will still get a few days of camping in. Only time and the weatherman will tell.
