Holy smokes! I can’t believe the weather that we’ve been having these days. It has been raining for the past three days straight with no end in site. If the weather man can be believed, this is going to continue for the next couple of days. Thankfully we live on a hill so our place hasn’t experienced any flooding, but I know a lot of people who are being flooded out and if this rain doesn’t stop they could be facing a lot of water damage. Hopefully the weather man is mistaken as he often is and we don’t get any more rain. It’s a good thing we live on a hill or I think we would need to start buying wood.
I have found that this time of year, the time of year when we are all spending more money than we usually do on Christmas presents, can be the most trying time of the year on people’s credits. They start making a lot of purchases and some people even use their credit cards to finance their entire gift giving. Now this can be a good thing to do as long as you keep in mind that you really have to be able to pay it off quickly to ensure that you don’t pay extra interest charges.
But if you do get in a tricky situation due to over spending, you can always check out sites like the creditcardspecialist.com. Sites like this one help regular consumers to access valuable credit card information. You can receive information regarding credit cards that have no annual fees, cards with very low interest payments or even cards that offer rewards (to possibly use as next year’s gifts). You will also be able to determine which card would be best for you in your particular situation. So if you find yourself in a credit crunch this upcoming season, then I highly suggest you that you check out this site.
So once again Friday has arrived. So the first thing I would like to say is that I hope you all have a wonderful Friday and wonderful weekend as well. Because this is the weekend that my father in law is getting married, I won’t be around much over the weekend. Tonight is the rehearsal and the rehearsal dinner and then tomorrow is the wedding, reception and dance. So we will be spending a lot of time travelling and celebrating.
So until then, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I’ll see you all again the first of next week.
For die hard yard sale enthusiasts, this weekend is probably the last full weekend to be able to go out browsing among other people’s stuff. Normally the last weekend before Halloween is the last full weekend that people will have to sit outside displaying all their wares. Because it’s normally the last weekend for yard sales you can usually get some pretty great deals as people just want to get rid of their stuff before the winter season. Last year around this time my father in law was able to grab a couple of used tape drives at a really cheap price and he still uses them today. So if it’s cheap stuff your looking for, this weekend is the weekend to go.
Honestly I have to wonder what some people are thinking some of the time. Last night when I arrived home from work about 9:30 pm my neighbor and his cousin were sitting outside in the cold drinking beer around their two fire pits. Now normally this wouldn’t have shocked me so much except for the fact that it was below zero at this time and getting colder. Just a few feet away from their fire pits was the house. If they wanted to sit around (in the warmth) drinking beer, why wouldn’t they just sit inside? Summers over people. Deal with it. lol Oh well, better him than me I guess.
I have been thin all my life. I can’t remember a time that I wasn’t underweight. Even when I was pregnant for my kids I never gained the weight I should have. Now, I don’t really mind being underweight as it saves me a lot of money in alli weight loss but… Now there’s always a but isn’t there? I can’t stand it when people comment about how “skinny” I am. I can’t stand that word!! I don’t mind underweight or even thin, but I absolutely hate the word skinny. One thing people don’t understand is that I have as much trouble putting on weight as others do when losing it.
OK. Rant over. Now on to your regularly scheduled programming.
Today will be the third payday that I have had since returning back to work. Now the reason why I mention it is because something really funny has been happening with my paydays and I’m really wondering if today will be the same. The first paycheck I recieved was messed up because they over paid me. Then two weeks ago my paycheck was messed up because they forgot to pay me! So I’m wondering what is going to take place today. hehe Oh well, the good thing is, is that as soon as I bring it to their attention, they do straighten it out. It’s just that I’m wondering what will happen today.
Well it’s almost the end of October and the extension on the house didn’t even get started. So I guess I’ll have to put in another winter in this cramped little space. I was so excited when my husband told me he had decided to put an extension on our home as this would mean that we would have a whole lot of room for us and the kids. But that looks like it’s not going to happen now until at least spring. I was really looking forward to putting in some home theater furniture so we could finally have a play/family room for the kids. Oh well life happens and I guess I’ll just have to wait until spring to become un-cramped.
I can’t believe it’s almost the end of October. For the past couple of months I have been extremely busy creating jewelry as I get ready for the upcoming Christmas craft fair season. I pretty much have all the jewelry made that I wanted to so I’m quite happy about that. Now if I would only get the promotional products that I ordered in the mail before the first craft fair comes I’ll be really happy. I do realize that my work speaks for itself, but I would like to have these items to pass out to customers. The more I can get my name out there in the jewelry making industry, the better my chances are to have a successful craft fair season. So fingers crossed that these products come in my mailbox in the next couple of weeks.
Only 10 more days until Halloween. Just ask my kids. lol This year my daughter is quite excited to be going out trick or treating as it is the first year that she will be going with a friend and not her father and brother. She is 10 now so I feel that a little bit of freedom is warranted. My son plans on going out as a construction worker and my daughter will be going as a werewolf. Then after the kids are all done trick or treating for the night my daughter has plans to stay at her friends overnight. Kids grow up so fast and it seems like my daughter is starting to grow up rather quickly. But at least I still have my little man who is not quite ready to go trick or treating without mom or dad.
