A possible career in the IT field

Now that the kids are getting older, I have been having some serious thoughts about returning back to work. But, I really don’t want to go back into the service industry or the retail field. One area where I would love to work would be in the IT industry. This industry is quickly becoming one of the fastest growing fields in the job market and is also showing itself to be one of the better paying careers in the job market. But to become successful in this industry, I really need to get a Cisco certification.

Thankfully I have come across a site that can help me to get my Cisco certification quite easily and quickly. Over at this site I have found lots and lots of information regarding the program as well as information on how a person just like me can be Cisco certified. They also have testimonials from past clients who were extremely happy with their services.

For a 40 year old stay at home mom who is seriously thinking about heading out to the workforce, this field seems to be a dream come true. Not only is there a lot of room for advancement and growth in this field, but the pay that comes with a certification with this career will help me to help the children in all their life’s endeavors. So if your thinking about re-entering the workforce, or your just unhappy in your current job, then I strongly suggest that you check out this site to discover just how you can get started in a wonderful new career that you are bound to be extremely happy with.

July is quickly coming to an end

When the kids got out of school at the end of June for their summer vacation, I honestly thought that the summer would creep by slowly.  Well I can’t believe how fast it has gone by.  It’s almost the end of July already and August is just around the corner.  If I thought July went by quickly, then I’m thinking August is just going to soar by as well.

The first of August my sister in law and brother in law are coming home from out West for two weeks.  Both of the younger kids have birthdays the around the first and my husband is taking a weeks vacation around the first week of August as well.  So I guess I’ll have to put on my running shoes and get ready for a very busy and fast August.

How about you guys?  Do you find that this summer is just flying by?

It was a long week

I am so thankful that this week is almost behind me. It was such a long week with the kids. Although they were in art camp for the week in the afternoons, the amount of time that they spent home and with each other was sever torcher on me. They spent the entire week fighting and not listening to a word I said. And today hasn’t been any better. If they keep this up, I am really thinking about booking a vacation just for me! I know they would love to experience any of Orlando vacations, but they way they have been acting, they are going to be lucky if they get to experience going outside our doorway for the next week. Do you ever get fed up with your kids?? Have you threatened to run away all by yourself??

Yard sale this Saturday

Most of you may not be aware of this, but I have set up a small crafting business over at Simply Crafting. Here you will find all the projects that I have personally made up for sale. Most of the inventory of the inventory that I have for sale is homemade jewelry. I have had a couple of sales from my site. But I haven’t sold nearly the amount of jewelry that I want to.

I was contacted today from a friend of mine who is having a yard sale on Saturday. She asked me if I would like to participate in it and try to sell some of my jewelry. So I figured why not. Even if I don’t sell a thing on Saturday the only thing I will have wasted would be my time. So I’m off to a yard sale on Saturday and hopefully the first of next week I’ll be able to come in and post that I’ve sold a ton of jewelry.

Not much to say

Well I think it’s finally happened.  I’ve run out of things to say.  That is an extremely new thing to happen to a person like me.  Normally I can think of tons of things to post about and usually have a hard time finding enough time in the day to do all the postings I would like.  But, this past week I really am floundering for some useful things to talk about.  I think this is what you would call “blogger’s block”.  Oh well, I’m sure some topics will come back to me eventually and soon I will be posting again like crazy.  Until then I guess I’ll just wish you all a happy week.  And happy posting!

Summer is flying by

I can’t believe how fast this summer is flying by!  It’s Thursday again already and I really have to wonder where did all this time go.  It just seems like yesterday that the kids were finishing up their final days of school and getting all set for summer vacation.  Now an entire month has passed since the final day of school.  If the rest of the summer flies by like the first of the summer did, then it won’t be no time at all before we will be digging out the lunch bags and book bags.  But the kids are having a major blast this summer so I guess it’s all been worth it.

Steps in managing your money

A few years ago my oldest brother found himself in a world of financial trouble and had to declare bankruptcy. Had he taken certain steps, I think that this final step probably could have been avoided. While he was working and making good money he started living way beyond his means. So when a financial emergency came up, he had no place to turn. But I am happy to say that he learned a very valuable lesson while going through all this and I did as well. I have learned what not to do so I can avoid any possible financial crises that may come my way that may cause me to end up in the same place as him.

I have taken a couple of courses on Debt Management and am very thankful that I did. Yes, I have credit cards, but I don’t have them maxed to the limit and I always pay more than the minimum payment each month. I don’t purchase items just because I want them. I save the money up until I can pay cash for it. And, we don’t indulge our kids on every little item that they think they need.

Just by following these few steps, I have been able to keep myself out of major debt and have been able to save a little extra as well. Not only is it important for a person to be able to pay there bills, but having some savings goes a long way toward helping out if a financial emergency arises. I honestly think that if I continue to manage my money the way I currently do, I will never have to face bankruptcy and have to claw my way back up the credit ladder. My brother has finally learned from his mistakes and because of his lessons, he will never have to declare bankruptcy again either.

Back to camp

After a two week break from art day camp the kids are going back today.  They will be going everyday for the next three weeks.  They are pretty excited about going back and have had all their supplies packed for days.  I’m quite happy that their going back as well.  Now I don’t need to entertain them everyday all day and I could possibly get some much needed work done.  I can’t believe how fast this summer is flying by.  But the kids are having a blast and that’s what summer vacation is all about now isn’t it?!

He’s moving on

After almost 10 months without his wife, my father in law is finally starting to move on. He has decided to put the house up for sale and has been cleaning and getting rid of things for the past couple of weeks. Although this activity does make me a little sad, I am happy to see that he is moving on with his life. He has gotten rid of a lot of things of hers over the past couple of weeks. He has given all her clothes to the diabetic association and has finally gotten rid of all her medication, even her diet pills. I could never understand why he wanted to keep her pills, but now that he has gotten rid of them I’m glad. With kids hanging around his house, you can never be too safe. Now that the time has come for him to move on, I guess I should too.
