She’s mad at me

My daughter is not real pleased with me today.  A couple of days ago she got a note sent home from school telling all parents that someone in her class has head lice.  So we needed to check the kids heads and make sure that they don’t have it and if they do, do the treatment and report it back to the school.  Thankfully after checking her over, she does  not have it.  But, she has seriously long and thick hair.  I shudder at the thoughts of if she did have it.

The school gave us a suggestion that if the child has long hair (which she does) to make sure it’s pulled back and in a pony tail.  Well I can’t tell you how much she hates wearing a pony tail.  But I insisted!  There is no way I want her getting head lice if I can possibly prevent it.  So off to school she went in a pony tail and let me tell you, she was annoyed.  But I’d rather her be annoyed with me than have to go through the unwelcoming process of trying to get rid of lice in HER hair.

Oh Yikes. That would be terrible, I am sure she will be all right someday with the decision, lol. :) You know, one of those days when she understands why you did it. hehe. :) Head lice is scary stuff, I remember going through those checks in elementary school a long time ago.

I have a seven year old that hates a pony tail. So I know how you feel about that. I always make her put her hair up when we go to the park or skating. Nice blog you have here.

As someone who has long thick hair even as a child and HAD head lice, it ain’t fun. It took MONTHS to get those fricken dead eggs out of my hair and I personally sat there and combed it through every single fricken day. And of course it went through the entire family. I have a twin who also has long thick hair. Needless to say my mother was po’d big time.
